The 2012 Farmers’ Market Season has officially begun! We’ve been hibernating quite a bit over the winter months, which has given us enough time to get thoroughly giddy, anxious and excited to get back in the full swing of things. We’re happy the spring-time rain is falling, the bright light green leaves are growing, the air is warming and soothing our spirits, and the new early spring harvest is satiating our cravings for fresh local produce. Long summertime days are upon us, and it’s only a matter of time until we’re vending bare-feet and eating strawberries for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Mmmmmm the flavours of our regional growing season, it’s such an exciting experience to become so intimately connected to the rhythms and seasons of food that is grown from our own soil…
Our 2012 Market Season Schedule:
Sorauren Farmers’ Market: Monday afternoons, 3pm-7pm
Located in Roncesvalles at the corner of Wright Ave and Sorauren. The West End Food Co-op created this market four years ago, and we’re proud to enter our second season with them! Location / Website
Dufferin Grove Farmers’ Market: Thursday afternoons, 3pm-7pm
Located on the west side of Dufferin Grove Park, just south of Bloor Street West. We are thrilled to be a new addition to one of Toronto’s first farmers’ markets. Location / Website
The Stop’s Farmers’ Market: Saturday mornings, 8am-1pm
Located at Christie and St.Clair, we’re inside the beautiful Artscape building during the winter months, and outside surrounding the building during the spring/summer and early fall months. Location / Website
Leslieville Farmers’ Market: Sunday daytime, 9am-2pm
Located just east of Coxwell on Queen East, it’s our first season with this two-year-old market. Hello east-end! For the last year, our kitchen was located just down the street from this market; we’re excited to now sell our prepared food in this neighbourhood! Location / Website
